2021
Guardians of the Gallery

The Superhero Project’s global footprint continues to expand in 2021. With artists and families reaching out from countries like India, Suriname, South Africa, New Zealand, Malaysia, Northern Ireland, the Czech Republic, Mexico and beyond, our connections and community are growing monthly. We quickly moved from 500 to more than 600 characters in the first four months of the year, with no signs of stopping. After receiving our official 501(c)(3) status, we celebrated virtually with an event in May to thank our artists, featuring Frogbot Films founders Monica Lago-Kaytis and Clay Kaytis. We collaborated with even more animation studios and community organizations from coast to coast (in the U.S. and Canada), and were featured in a new exhibit at the University Hospitals Center for Women and Children.

“We were BLOWN AWAY by BRYUPER!

The whole experience was really special… You did a skillful job getting the story of BRYUPER out of Brian, pulling it all together, AND communicating it to the artist.

Thank you to Rob for bringing to life the superhero in Brian. BRYUPER is perfect. Brian was so excited to open the package! What a special treat. Brian loves to draw but has had a hard time having enough energy throughout treatment, not to mention some neuropathy in his hands. The BRYUPER poster was such an inspiration and Brian hasn't stopped drawing since that day (he had to draw all of BRYUPER's friends and the evil-doers he battles, of course).

One of the hardest things about treatment for Brian has been remembering at times why treatment is worth it. A heavy thing for a 5 (now 6) year old to carry. This experience (and the poster) are such good reminders about what is so cool about life. It has been the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you."

- Melanie, Brian's mom
